The trunk mat in the Mustang has seen many better days but I've kept it as it appears original. At one point, I had a subwoofer in the trunk and cut a bit of the mat so it could be removed with the box in place. With the subwoofer now removed, it is a good time to replace the mat with something nicer.
The mat I ordered is a TMR-1P made by ACC and sold by NPD. It was rather expensive at $100 but I purchase another previously from Summit and it arrived paper thin with some cloth adhered to the back. When this arrived, I was happy to find the material was almost exactly like the original. It seemed a slight be more green while the original seemed more grey/brown but they were quite close and the pattern was correct.
I installed it and made a few marks so I could cut it to fit a little better. After about 30 minutes, it was fitting really good. The original cut around the spare tire mount was a little off. I fixed that and think it looks fine but the opening is a little large for that reason. I'm pleased and it looks much better.
I've been working on the 1993 Mustang much more lately. I picked up some Luxury Liner from Second Skin to cut down on road noise. If some is left, I think I'll put some under this mat to protect the gas tank from anything I might put in the trunk.
